A Private Saloon. A Wine Room. A Hidden Passageway. Discover an Extraordinary Mountain Getaway in One of the Sierra’s Best-Kept Secrets. Set along the 18th fairway of Grizzly Ranch, this remarkable custom home brings together mountain craftsmanship, open golf-course views, and unexpected spaces that make staying home an experience of its own. A Western-inspired saloon features a beautifully crafted wood bar, display cabinetry, and an indoor-outdoor fireplace—an inviting setting for cocktails and conversation after a day on the course. A separate wine room pairs custom bottle storage with brick detailing and a tasting counter, while the lower-level billiards area offers another place to gather. A hidden passageway leads to outdoor patios, and a stained-glass bear window adds to the home’s distinctive character. Exposed wood beams, custom millwork, and richly textured stone carry that character throughout the interiors. In the soaring great room, a substantial stone fireplace anchors the space, while fully retractable doors open to the patio. Views encompass the Lake House, a peaceful pond, a natural rock waterfall, and the forested hills beyond. The kitchen combines warm wood cabinetry and a generous island with professional-grade appliances and a built-in rotisserie, creating a welcoming space for preparing meals together. Outside, multiple patios tucked among mature pines, natural boulders, and landscaped gardens offer settings for leisurely dinners, morning coffee, and quiet afternoons in the mountain air. An elevator connects all three levels, while five bedrooms, four with ensuite bathrooms, and five and a half baths provide comfortable accommodations for family and guests. The approximately 1,900-square-foot garage accommodates up to seven vehicles, with additional space for storage and outdoor gear. Tucked within the gated Grizzly Ranch community near Portola, the home offers a gateway to the Lost Sierra—a quieter corner of Northern California where alpine lakes, forested fairways, and small mountain towns invite exploration. Reno and Truckee are less than an hour away, yet the setting feels like a world of its own. Enjoy golf at Grizzly Ranch, fishing and boating at nearby Lake Davis, afternoons in Graeagle, or dining and golf at nearby Nakoma Resort. From evenings in your own saloon to mornings overlooking the fairway, this is a mountain getaway made for memorable weekends, longer stays, and traditions worth returning to.
